Laura Pannekoek is pleased to announce the opening of her business, Interior Design & Organization (IDO). IDO's mission is to transform homes and offices into functional spaces that are aesthetically pleasing. IDO seeks to help others simplify and bring order to their lives and workplace.

"Many families and business owners do not have the time, knowledge and/or energy to achieve the most functional and aesthetically pleasing use of their home or work spaces," Pannekoek said. "They want to be free from clutter, stress, chaos and frustration, but are unable to accomplish this on their own. They need advice, motivation, ideas and assistance so that they may find more time for their families and themselves. This is where IDO will help."

The services of Interior Design & Organization include:
- confidential, caring and non-judgmental organizing for home and office
- interior re-design of work and living spaces
- de-cluttering areas in home and office
- setting-up a new home or workplace after a move
- staging homes and offices for real estate open houses, parties and the holiday season
- assisting seniors in scaling back for a new lifestyle

"IDO believes that your furniture, accessories, family treasures and pieces you have collected are a reflection of your personality and can be artfully redesigned to bring fresh life into rooms," Pannekoek said. "This may be the most effective decorating strategy for your home and/or workspace."

Pannekoek has lived in Chesterton with her family for more than 11 years. They take pride in living in Chesterton and are actively involved with the schools, the library, the museum and the Chesterton Home Improvement Project (CHIP). Pannekoek has a B.A. in Home Economics with a concentration in Interior Design. She has worked closely with prominent interior designers in Chicago and Chesterton.

"Interior design and re-design is my passion and I have always dreamed about making it a business," she said.

IDO is celebrating its opening with a "Mother's Day special". Interested parties can buy three hours of consultation and assistance, normally a $150 value, at a special introductory rate of $99. For more details, call 219-476-5888.
